Hello musicians!
This is my first crack at using a blog and it's my hope that it will help to keep you informed while we're apart. I'm learning as I go, so please bear with me as I get my footing. I plan to post activities, videos, games, and other web-based resources to help you continue meaningfully engage with music while you're at home. Please check back throughout the week as I'll do my best to post more. Feel free to leave a comment on any of the posts. I miss you all!
Have you been washing your recorder? Here's mine coming out of the bath. Do everything you can to keep the germs away!
Last week, I sent out this tune sheet. Below are 4 of the recorder songs we have been working on in 4th grade and two others we didn't get a chance to try yet. Each song will have three links to audio files: the melody, the root melody, and both parts combined. You'll be able to listen to each part and play along with one or the other. I'd love to see or hear a recording in the comments!
1. Hot Cross Buns - Melody, Root Melody, Combined
2. Cold Cross Buns - Melody, Root Melody, Combined
3. Major Duple - Melody, Root Melody, Combined
4. Mary Had a Little Lamb - Melody, Root Melody, Combined
5. Mary Had Lamb Chops - Melody, Root Melody, Combined
6. Ode to Joy - Melody, Root Melody, Combined
That's all for now. Please check back as I'll be updating once or twice during the week. Stay healthy and I hope to see you soon!
